While continuing on my mission to help my girlfriend in furthering her career in web/digital design, last night I showed her the helpfulness and importance of several web services & applications.
First up, Google Reader. A vital tool in keeping track of your favorite authors and designers. In simple terms, Google Reader is a place where you can keep tabs on all that goes on with any sites you take a fancy in. Come across a site and think the author is good, or regularly posts decent stuff? Do they have an RSS feed? Then subscribe to their feed in Google Reader. Job done.
Next up, deli.icio.us. Another important tool in helping keeping organised all those websites you come across that you either find important, useful or interesting. Whether the site explains how to do a certain thing in HTML/CSS, or if you think the site has an awesome design – del.icio.us is the bookmarking tool you can’t live without.
Lastly, Firebug. An awesome tool for helping you understand HTML/CSS code, live, right there on any website you visit. If you come across a site that you think it neat, or find yourself asking the question “I wonder how they did that in CSS?” Firebug breaks it down quickly, helping you understand the styles, methods and techniques the designer used. Whats more, Firebug can help you on your own site for a quicker way to find a specific style used, if you’re using several mammoth-sized stylesheets.

This a very helpful post fella. That Firebug thing is excellent. Thanks.
No worries dude, glad it helped!
