First of all, Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a great time! More of Christmas later, but now on to the Geeky stuff that I should have posted a few days ago!…
I’ve been studding prices of the new lens I am hoping to buy shortly across the internet for another Jessops-special price matching offer, which is what I’ve done many times in the past.
I was worried that their price matching scheme had ended recently, so I did some research on that and found that the price matching was no only to price match any UK-based internet store, but to 110% match the price. Sounds excellent, but I was doubtful that the staff at my local Jessops would buy-it when I told them about it.
So, I decided to send an email to Jessops directly (via their website), asking about details of this promotion and if I could have – in writing – that the 110% price matching offer existed.
I got an email back some 4 hours after sending the email, only to find that the entire price matching scheme had ended. Not so good news. This is in fact a right downer for me, I’ve always gone to Jessops, but I’ll be forced into going elsewhere now, simply because their internet and in-store prices are just too steep.
I’m going in store to my local Jessops very shortly after Christmas anyway, armed with cash, and I’ll ask about it anyway. If they turn it down, then I’m going to have to wait patiently for the "best" online store to ship my lens to me.
