Looks like my Panasonic FZ30 camera is already out of date. I’ve Just read on dpreview the release of the Panasonic FZ50! I’ve been thinking a while already about buying another camera – this time a true dSLR, but I’m yet to decide on one. The Canon 350D, Nikon D50, or what?…

Hm, yeh figured. But they are good… Was thinking about a D70 or D50, whats your thoughts? For about the same money of course.?

Yep. Been thinking about this more and more after my Germany trip. A friend of mine has a Canon 300D, and I think I’ve sorted out my bit of kit… Goes something like:
Canon 350d + EF 18-55mm lens + Battery
Canon 90-300mm EF USM lens
Canon battery grip for 350d
SanDisk 2gb Compact Flash
Which comes to around £780. Popping over to Jessops tomorrow, they do internet price matching!
I’m saving for a dSLR, but the thing is i’m not sure if it will be worth it, seeing as lenses are not cheap. and if i just bought the body, it would be a long time before i could use the camera. becuase i would have to save for the lenses. I’m thinking about getting an equivelent camera that isnt an SLR but has a nice big zoom lens on it.
You should start saving! I’ve got my 350d now and WOW so awesome. The FZ30 is good, but it doesn’t compare to the 350d, although it shouldn’t really since the Canon is twice the price.
