A while ago I noticed on Collin’s website that he had submitted his website for "review" on a website known as I talk too much. I don’t know that much about this site, but from what I can tell its one guy that reviews websites as he wishes, saying whatever he feels like about a certain site.
Collin got his review a while ago with mixed thoughts, after which I submitted mine.
A good few weeks later, I noticed that a review for my site was on the site! Great, so lets read what he said about mine.
This is a photo blog. It looks ok. The template isn’t bad at all. Very clean looking. The sidebar, however, is a monsterous pit of ‘tags.’ I am not sure exactly what tags are except that they’re a way of moving up the search engine chain, maybe Technorati so you can become a frolicking velociraptor or some shit. Whatever they are, they’re fucking annoying. I hate them. The sidebar just sucks.
There are too many posts on the page when you figure in all of the photos. The first one is 89k. A person on dialup would be waiting awhile for this page to load…a long while.
It’s mostly photos but there’s a pile of stuff about cameras and some personal posts as well. Every photo is accompanied by a post to match the art. And the photograpy is simply fucking beautiful. I haven’t seen a photo blog this good since I reviewed The Shuttered Eye several months ago. (Shuttered Eye is still the best I’ve seen though.)
To me, the content of this blog IS the photography. As soon as I saw the Flikr link I had to click over. Gorgeous!
While I don’t care about cameras (as evidenced by my fantabulous fotografy skilz,) the pictures are just awesome. The posts work with the photos so it’s all good.
I love this. Most (hell, all) of you hate photo blogs. Schmucks. Anyone who can’t enjoy a well taken/painted/drawn picture is a person without a soul and you’re all souless fucks anyway.
This blog rawks!
PS: I don’t like that green…but you knew that, didn’t you?
I’d agree with the number of tags, there is too many! Although I do use them to find previous posts for myself. Secondly, the amount of text / images / posts on a single page is WAY too big, I know, this is something I’ve been meaning to change for a while now.
Besides that it was all good comments to be honest, and I am thankful for such a positive and informative review. Thanks
At least you didn’t get Avitable reviewing! Glad they like someone though.
