I am trying to remove whats known as the inner member (haynes manual) or ball race from the end of my driveshaft. This is the end which goes in to the inner cv (pot joint) in the diff.
Just to let anyone interested know that they may well be damn impossible to remove. I have had mine “professionally” wacked with a hammer and screwdriver, thanks to people at my Dads work, and they have said it will not budge. They have however removed a bit of the end, just to see how badly it is rusted on.
They should be removable by “tapping” the other end of the ball race. However if yours dont wanna budge, dont worry, neither did mine!
