I don’t often talk about iPods, or Apple at all infact, but since getting my iPod Nano for an early Birthday present back in December, I’ve been constantly impressed by its ease of use and general awesomeness since owning it.
So anyway for some time now my computer / speakers on my computer have been playing up, crackling and making a horrible noise every so often. I’ve tried listening to my music via my headphones instead of my old PC speakers and it did the same. I even replaced my sound card with another one which also didn’t work (so I guess my PC is on the way of being knackered).
To get around this entire thing without replacing my whole PC, I decided to start looking at iPod speaker docks. This seamed like an ideal way of playing music – it didn’t interfere with my PC at all, it put good use to my iPod and some of the speaker docks were quite portable which would be really handy for camping trips, band practice, etc.
After some searching around on the ‘net (as usual), the Logitech mm50′s seemed to have constant good reviews. Although not as good as the Bose ones, and not quite as good as some of the Altec Lansing units, for the price they were brilliant. Aparently.
So yesterday I strolled into HMV to have a quick look at the speaker docks for sale, not expecting to see the mm50′s since I haven’t seen them in a shop at all yet, and there they were, looking at me. 10 minutes later and I’m walking out of HMV with them. And are they any good? Hell yes!!
They look and sound really great. Despite their size, the sound quality, crispness and bass is really very good. They’re also not so bad on the volume side of things. I’m well happy and at £59.99 they’re definitely something to consider. Nice one Logitech.

i too recieved these speakers in the post and only paid 30£ on ebay including postage i use them with my ipod touch 16 gig and they sound unbelievable for their size! the fact they charge your ipod aswell is superb but its annoying that they dont charge when using battery. i went on camping expedition and was annoyed that my ipod ran out of bat. before my speakers did! surely logitech could allow them to charge the ipod but have a function where it can be switched off from charging the ipod aswell! but 9.5/10 from me! awesome!
